Amy Tjasink is a young and local singer-songwriter who has been paving her way through the local scene over the past few months. She wins crowds over with her swift hand on the guitar and sweet vocal tones. She is best known for her original pop music, bringing her own Cape Town flare to her sound. The small but mighty blonde is a force to be reckoned with in the local and international scene, having just come home from months abroad as a musical director in Australia. She has released x 2 EP’s since August last year, the first being a country inspired collection, the latter falling into the Pop genre’. She is currently working on her first full studio album, with a new and fresh sound true to the young woman she has become.
Amy has been singing and playing music since the age of 15, and graduated her Music Studies being awarded Student of The Year. The past 7 years have been spent curbing her talent and gaining experience in the Hotel & Pub scene, both locally and internationally, but Amy truly stepped into the spotlight in August 2016 when she released her first EP along with a sold-out launch. She has since had numerous radio plays, including a chart-topping –collaboration in song writing and performance for the song Get Wild. Her song-writing abilities continued to be noticed when she was approached by The Cape Argus to write a campaign song for the water crisis in Cape Town.
